Math Poems

  Zero Factorial
Man has pondered
Since time immemorial
Why 1 is the value
Of zero-factorial.
  The Mobius Strip
A mathematician confided
That a Mobius band is one-sided.
And you'll get quite a laugh
If you cut it in half,
For it stays in one piece when divided.
  A Ratio in Rhyme
A Dozen, a Gross and a Score,
plus three times the square root of four,
divided by seven,
plus five times eleven,
equals nine squared and not a bit more.
  A Vector
A vector
is a scalar
that has been pushed
too far.
  A Circle
Fiddle de dum, Fiddle de dee,
A ring round the moon is pi times d;
But if a hole you want repaired,
You use the formula Pi r squared.
  Infinity
There was a young man from Trinity,
Who solved the square root of infinity.
While counting the digits,
He was seized by the fidgets,
Dropped science, and took up divinity.
